Twin LS1 powerplant I've been tossing around the idea of building a twin LS powerplant. Most likely twin 5.3's for cost efficiency. I am at a loss as to how to connect the two engines mechanically. Is there a coupling available to tie the two cranks together? I have seen drag cars of the past running twin v-8's so I know it can be done. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it, thank you. |
I think you have to make a stub shaft for the front of one and another for the rear of the other, then use an industrial coupling to connect them. |
Inline or side by side mounting? |
This guy is using a TR6060 driveshaft coupler with some custom work for an inline setup. I think I have the rubber coupler and the driveshaft side if you decide to go that direction. |

Run a pair of LS4s with transmission. An engine/trans for each axle. |
