Default Instant Center & Line of action & torque arm mounting location

I should probably put this into the drivetrain forum except its got some interesting physics involved. When you move the torque arm mounting position (like when you buy a tunnel mounted torque arm) you move the location of the force transmitted into the frame. If the new location is behind the instant center and above the line of action (the imaginary line which runs through the instant center and rear axle) then the rear end will want to lift up on acceleration which reduces squatting and if it is in front of instant center then the nose of the car will want to come up. I'm not sure where on the car the center of mass is in relation to the factory torque arm mount or aftermarket tunnel mounts. How is traction really affected? Does it matter if the car is a manual or automatic?
