Unhappy Compressor back-pressure from twins?

I am using two 60-1 turbos and have come to a hault as far as what to do with the compressor outputs. I can use two intercoolers and route the outputs to meet just before the throttle body; or, I can use a large FMIC and route a single tube to the throttle body. I would rather use the single FMIC, however, I am wondering about the effects of the compressors seeing the pressure of each other.

Although I have seen it done numerous times, I would like to explore the option with the help of those knowledgable.

3 end tanks... two in one out. Most of the pressure differential comes from the IC. And since you're setup doesn't sound like a sequential. That point is really moot anyway.

But the two in, one out usually would end up looking the best from a routing standpoint.

I agree with mr2guru. Using a two in and one out sounds the best. It also may have routing advantages that keep the pipe runs short, especially from the intercooler to the throttle body, which will help reduce turbo lag.

The only real problem I'm aware of with using twin turbos feeding a common intake is adjusting the wastegates. You want them to be set as close as possible otherwise one side pushes more air than the other and this can push both compressor wheels to inefficient areas of the boost map. You might want to run twin boost guages. One at each of the outlets of the compressors.

I disagree, on my car we merged the two turbo compressor sides and went into a large fmic then into the TB.

The large single fmic flows more than the 3 tank "twin inlet" intercooler

It won't matter where they merge, they will always see each others pressure (which does not matter) unless you have a separate intake manifold and throttle body for each cylinder head.

I use dual intercoolers merged at the TB, but only for packaging reasons. I think the most efficient setup would be a big front mount, horizontal flow, with a single in/out, merged before the inlet.

I can't remember where I saw it but, this comment makes me think of an old lingenfelter motor with twin tb and intakes and it was N/a. I only saw a pic, I just think it sounds cool. twin turbo, twin intercooler, intake, tb would be a wicked custom set-up.

It kind of depends if your trying to go fast or look cool
