Default 1st mods to the Hugger Orange Z!

Well, after this poor car going untouched since 1999, after I owned it 2 weeks the modding has begun....

Small steps, but steps none the less!

Mod # 1 ....the ever popular SLP lid

Mod # 2.....SLP bowtie grille

Mod # 3...I won't call it a Berger, I'll call it blacking out the rear

I have a Magnaflow cat back en route already, as well as a set of black ZR1s from TomZwheels. Should have that stuff up and running by next weekend!

Need to swap a wheel bearing on the right front this weekend.

What do you guys think so far?

I'm holding off on any stripes until I figure out if I'm keeping the stock hood or throwing a Sunoco on it!

I just buffed it out and waxed it this week.....car had 49K on it before the 1,000 mile trek from Colorado to Chicago.

As is sits it's got just over 50K on the clock.

Looks nice, the "burger panel" looks good on it with the orange letters.

Oddly enough the guy just put that green battery in right before I bought it!

The green does look horrid in there for sure.

Thanks, I used a set of cheap vinyl letters to mask it off....shot the black base down, pulled the letters off and laid down the clear.

Worked perfect!

I'd have to agree 100%

I'm still kicking around if I should put the bowtie and Z28 badge back on the tailpanel....thoughts?

Could always put it on, see how it looks. Looks clean now.

Any plans to change the spoiler?

Not at the moment....once I get the wheels & exhaust on it, I'm stopping till the spring or else my wife will kill me.

In the spring I'll start modding again

Damn that looks very clean! I have always loved the black ZR1's/Berger on HO cars. It would look very nice with an SS hood depending on if you care about the term "cloning", but it looks the best. If you do care, then the Sunoco will still look very nice!! Nice job so far and the real fun begins when the Bolt-ons, Suspension, And H/C, F/I come into play!!!! Great start!! Good Luck.

NOTHING wrong with cloning. Just hate the punks that clone it then claim it's the real thing. Agreed on the mods. They are going to make you poor.

I'm not worried about the "cloning" bitching....my 73 RS was "cloned" into a Z.
That's how I wanted it, and never ever passed it off as a real Z!

As much as I love the SS look, I want to kinda go a different direction with this car!
