Cool Painted Coil packs and brackets! Cost: $0

Well as the description says, I painted my coil packs and brackets yesterday
and got em in this morning! I used adhesion promoter, silver and orange
paint, and clear coat I had laying around so the cost in money was $0. But
the actual cost was 6 scratches and gouges to my right hand/arm and 5 to
my left! Typical for working under an F-body's hood! Enjoy the pics!

Here's the painted brackets.

And the painted coil packs.

Installed on the passanger side.

And installed on the driver side.

There, another appearance mod off the list!

Any concern with your coils holding heat now and breaking down? Just curious.

I plan to pain a lot more. I've done the wire mod and emissions delete. I'll be moving to
the rear and I'm replacing a LOT of the wire loom with chrome wire loom. I was thinking
about pulling the valve covers, but I didn't have the $$ to get the black paint and engine
de-greaser. I also want FRCs from an 04 GTO, but painting these will suffice until I can
save the money to get the FRCs. And of course, the engine bay itsself needs to be
painted, but I'm gonna wait until I'm all set to paint my bumper and do it at the same
time.

I know it's dirty. I don't drive it yet as I've been doing a LOT of body work on it and
after I cleaned it the last time, it got really dirty really quick, so it's not a priority YET. I
still have to fill and sand the holes from the wire mod.

I'm not too worried about the heat. I didn't cover them with primer, just a light coat of
adhesion promoter before light paint and light clear. I say light because I didn't want to
cake on the paint, and if you were to pull one off, you could still read the numbers in the
white part!

Thanks for the compliments!

That looks really good. One of the first mods I did when I had no money.

Arguably, I think it looks better in SOM, than m

It will look lots better when you get headers in there!
