Default Paint on leading edge of roof band

THe paint on the leading side edges of the roof band on my bird appears cracked. I never noticed until today on my 2002 car. But there is clearly black visible under the red like it is "spidered" at the edge. Is this common?

By the way, it's not bubbling as discussed in the other thread. I wish I could post a pic, but I don't have a good digi cam right now.

I noticed the same thing on my car this past weekend, not spider webbed or cracked, just not as smooth as the rest of the car.

It's pretty hard to see, not stress cracks. It is paint that isn't as smooth as the rest of the roof, not the clear either, it's the paint.

I first saw it when I was using a polisher and was 2 inches away from the roof looking into the sun.

The car still looks decent.
