Wheels....Paint or powder coat?

Wheels....Paint or powder coat? I have a set of C5 rims I would like to get painted or powder coated black. I had a friend who had bad luck with painting his rims but he did it himself and part of the problem could have been his prep so I don`t know if he`s a good example. I have no experience with powder coat but have heard good things. Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Re: Wheels....Paint or powder coat? Thanks for the input guys. Powder coating it is! Buy the way, how do they get that "smoked" chrome look? Is that an anodizing?

Re: Wheels....Paint or powder coat? I've had wheels painted, with no problems. Powder coating is better I'm sure, but if the wheels are painted properly there should be no issues.

Re: Wheels....Paint or powder coat? Are you powdercoating the whole thing? I want to do my rims like the 35th anniversary ones, but i dont know if the phosphate bath will kill the paint already on there.

Re: Wheels....Paint or powder coat? Yes I`m going to powder coat the whole wheel. The truth of the matter is that I saw a silver T\A with a set of Racing Hart wheels that were black on the "star" portion of the wheel and silver\chrome around the outer part of the rim and thought they looked sweeeet! After pricing out those rims I realized I would have to improvise\compromize. So I`m not real sure if a all black rim is going to look that good or not. But, I guess I`ll find out! <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">
