Painted engine bay pieces
I painted my intake and valve covers for the LS3 goin in the Monte Carlo last night.. tell me what you think. (Car is going to be SOM with some black accents)
I'm going to do the intake and valve cover bolts in black, and I'll touch up around the injectors once they're in as well.

^You'll find pics and details about the build there.
On the black lettering, I just sprayed the area where the LSX was going and the Chevrolet lettering black, let it dry for about 10 mins, and then lay masking tape over the top of it. Since the Chevrolet is raised, I just went around the edge of letters with a razor blade and cut each one out. The LSX I printed a picture of, cut out the letters, and transfered it to masking tape and cut it out. Then I just sprayed 2 coats of SOM, let it dry for another 10 mins, peeled off the tape, and 3 coats of clear. On the LSX I wet sanded the lines smooth and buffed it out. It's not hard, just takes patience.

Well it's not a LSX block.. but it's still an LS series... We just didn't want to put LS3 on there.. mainly because to some of the locals, "It's just a cammed LS1"

Wow thats nice work, and an awesome color! I love Monte SS's! I almost bought an all original white one with 40k the day before i got my SS. Kinda wish i would have, but i wanted descent gas milage, and have wanted a 4th gen for about 10 years now. I knew i woudn't be happy with the 305 in the Monte and wouldn't be able to afford a motor swap on a college kids budget lol. Someday, i'll have one tho. Keep us updated on the build!
