Default For those who have CME... COME IN!

Are your 90 degree bends stainless steel? I might go tomorrow to get my tips welded on and I'm wondering if I should go with stainless steel. Also, on the center of your valences is it screwed into the bumper? The only way I would be able to do this is if I take off my rear bumper.

no mines not stainless. the center of the valence has a christmas tree fastener just like the ones at each end. its held on with that and double sided tape.

Mine are the stock bends that came with the slp cme tips. I don't think they're stainless. As for the valance, I used two screws to secure mine in the center. I jacked the rear end up, got under, and drilled 2 self-tapping screws. I don't think you'd need to tremove the rear bumper unless you have no way of getting the rear up.

My valence is already on and I know the center comes with the fastener bolts, but I guess what I'm trying to say is, there's no gap where I would be able to fit my hand and fasten the bolts. I hope that makes sense....

I guess it was different for me since I didn't have to fasten anything from behind when I used the self-tapping screws. I guess you wouldn't have to fasten anything from behind if you used the pine tree fasteners either, but the bolts provide a bit more security. Either way you go, I don't think you'll have any problems with the tape ever coming off.

Ok, I've called a few muffler shops and no one seems to be able to do mandrel bends for the 2 90 degree elbows I need. Where can I get my pipes mandrel bent? Also, I'm going to need stainless steel piping.

I had mine done with stainless steel pipe. I did not do mandrel bends. The exhaust shop I took it to was able to just make the 90 degree bends on there machine.

im going to be running cme. i just bought the ebay stainless tips and 90's. im going to be running kooks 1 7/8 ory through a magna flow. can you say stainless. im dropping my valence off to get painted tomorrow.

so if i put my valence on with double sided tape (what kind?) where should i place it on the valence? i don't really want to tack the valence to the bumper. isn't that sorta like dry wall screws???

btw, the guy i bought the headers and y from recommended the 3" hangers so they want pinch. my buddy that's installed exhaust before said the stockers are fine. so what should i do?

last thing, i don't know much about exhaust but does everything have to be welded?

i hope you guys can help. ill reward you with some sound clips and photos in a few wks if you can help deal?

It doesn't have to be welded. The tape you use is 3M double sided tape, but your valence should already have the tape on there.

so how many hours do you think it would take to install from the headers to the cme? i got guy that's gonna quote me. i think i could do the magnaflow catback with the cme exit and attach the valence and have him put the headers and y on to save money. nothing has arrived yet so i don't know what ill need. would i have to use new clamps? the stock u bends will just hold up the exhaust after i clamp everything down right?
