Default Anyone chrome or Polish Alternator cases? What price am I looking at?

I am looking to get my LT1 alternator case (front and back) chromed or polished. I would prefer chrome. I know people usually have the cases smoothed down and then chromed. Wondering if anyone on the forumn does this or knows anyone who does and what type of price range am I looking at?

Also, if you have had this done and want to chime in I would appreciate it!
Thanks

Smoothed and chromed (You cant polish it because it will rust) if you take it a part would I would guess be somewhere in the $75-$80 range maybe for the front and back case. Chrome plating is not cheap.

I use S&H Chrome in TN...they aren't cheap but they are GOOD!

I am pretty sure GaryTA has his LT1 alt chromed...I am sure he has some pics.

You absolutely can polish your alternator...

Just like any polished aluminum, it will need to be maintained though. A good coat of Zoop will seal it for several years.

I bought mine prepolished from a vendor an Ebay...I think it was A-1 Truck or something. About $150 (also, brand new alternator, not used one, for that price)

Is the case aluminum or pot metal? I was thinking it was a type of cast pot metal....its been a long time since I owned a LT1. If its alum then, yes, you can...absolutly.
