If not Mecham than what? Ok so I had my heart set on buying a Mecham hood but after further searching I've become a little scared about the quality of there products. Actually I haven't heard anything good about any aftermarket hood. Is there an aftermarket hood out there that is worth the money. I was hoping to get something a little different that the OEM WS6 hood. I don't care for the front ram holes being divided. I really liked the look of the Mecham but wish it had bigger front nostrils for a meaner look and it didn't have such a bad rating. Is there a company out there that makes the Firehawk type hood but with bigger Ram holes in the front?
If you're after a quality hood, VFN is your best bet. However, most of their Firebird versions look like the WS6, or very similar.
I think people have had good luck with the Raptor hood as well.

Havn't seen any other hoods with bigger ram air openings. I think the mecham hood went thru 2 versions, thus the 2nd one had a slightly enlarged opening but thats about it. If you really want something alittle different or what u want, then your going to have to get your hood modded.

Mecham's quality isn't "bad" in regards to the hood materials etc., the finish is just rough. Mine needed blocking etc. to get it to look good. The fitment however is almost perfect, and I have OCD. Lol.

Is the Superhawk hood functional and can you still buy it? I like the Raptor hood as well. Does the Raptor hood have vents in the back as well. I know that hood is functional. How do people that have the raptor hood and Superhawk like them? Any problems with fitment or cracking anything like that?

Yeah, there are about a dozen people who have paid for a superhawk hood (or other hoods form US exotics) over the past year and have yet to receive them.
