Bad 00 SS

Ok, very very soon, I must make a decision, to buy slp LT headers with slp y-pipe, or new-style cragar ss wheels (not the old ones) Wheels do make the car, however, headers would make me fly! especially with the SLP headers. Only problem, big money

wheels: 1,215

Which should I do????????

More important question is what do you want looks or performance?

Headers are nice, they are not going to make you fly but they do help and they make the engine compartment look better, since you would be ditching the ugly rusty manifolds. But for appearance sake unless your hood was open nobody would care.

Wheels are an important part to making your car physically unique, making my car MINE was important to me so the appearance mods took first priority over performance. As for the wheels, are you going to reuse your existing tires, or are you looking for bigger wheels, which in turn means bigger tires.

Who's doing the install?? Wheels are easy, five lug nuts each and you're golden. Headers, especially SLP LT's are a B***H to install!!! I know I've installed some SLP LT's.

You need to weight the pros and cons of each.

Headers for 1800 bucks?? Somebody has been smoking some crack <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> . You can get SLP headers/y-pipe for under 1000 bucks.

I'd go for the headers. You already have an SS which looks somewhat decent already and not as boring as the Z. All depends if you wanna look pretty losing or not <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ..

You KNOW i would say wheels <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> -- Wheels not only make the car but they make the car YOURS.. sets you apart from the crowd.. 1 in 10 people will notice the headers.. 9 in 10 will notice the wheels..

Headers will only start to show a BIG benefit once you do a cam and heads.. on a stock motor and exhaust its worth some but not as much as on a built car.. If your going to do heads in the future then thats the time to do headers since if you pay for install it wont be much more to have the headers tossed on.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'd go wheels. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> The SLP's are the "spaghetti" headers right??? Been awhile since I seen SLP's on a LS1.

I would probably go headers........ But you were given an incorrect price. The headers are about 850 and a y pipe is about 200.
