Default Thinking about painting interior parts

I might want to detail the interior a bit by painting some plastic panels. My car is silver and has the gray leather interior. I don't know what to paint, or what color.

Also, what is the exactly proceedure? Is it just sand of old finish, sand smooth, few light coats (what kind of paint in specific), then clear coat or 2 (any specific kind of clear coat)? What techniques can i use to be SURE that they all come out the same shade and all look good? Thanks.

Think that would look good.
I painted the pieces in my LE Red. It's LOUD as HELL, but I like it.

At any rate.
Sand the pieces really well, until they are smooth. After sanding wash them well, and let dry.
You want to primer. Etching primer I hear is best, but I used a primer from the Supply Store, and it was fine. do at least 2-3 coats of primer.
Lightly sand again. Wash, and let dry.
Spray paint in light thin coats. Let dry inbetween coats. After doing so, wetsand, wash, and paint again.. repeat steps until you think it looks good. Then you want to clear coat. Duplicolor from Kragen seems to be the best stuff. Apply clear as you would the paint... light coats. let dry for two days, and wet sand and clear again. Your done! this is how I did mine, and how my buddy did his. Good luck.
You can see pics at my web site.

High gloss black or a very dark charcole grey metalic would look very good..

Silver if you really want it to stand out <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Just take your time and remember "its all about prep work".. Jons came out nice so follow his directions..

This sounds like a very time consuming mod, but this will be good with helping me keep my patience about modding my car.

I don't know how much the black would stand out, or go with anything. I don't know about silver, I'm afraid of it looking cheesy.

What piece should i use as a test piece, to make sure i'll like the color in the interior, and something that isn't terribly noticable, also something that is easy so i can get the hang of it before i go to the more difficult pieces. Thanks, hopefully i can go get the paints tomorrow or sunday, and start doing it monday.
