Default Harwood 93-97 "ram air" hood not actually functional.... wtf??

So i bought a Harwood 93-97 style factory Firebird ram air hood. I take it home and install it only to finally realize that the ram air isn't actually functional and the holes are closed off.....

Is this something I'm supposed to cut out myself??? I would think that if you're an aftermarket hood manufacturer and you're building replacement ram air hoods on factory-functional ram air systems, you'd have the brains to include the holes!

I'm guessing I'll have to cut into my brand new hood if I want a functional ram air system. Time to get out the cutoff wheel!

Sounds like you bought it used and in that case the last owner could have requested it not to be open. I did that on my hood because I like the look and I didn't feel like ditching my current intake setup.

A lot of the time they do not cut them out from the factory, usually cause they are not made functional...

just cut it yourself, not that hard.. just a little dremeling and sanding. the cowl on the 2.5" cowl hood of theirs is not functional either.
