What color HID's?

I'm about to order HID's for my fogs on my Silverado and don't know whether to keep all the lights 6k or get some 3k yellow fog light bulbs? What do you guys think?

Yellow lights on the road are legal in your state? If you use them in the fog like you're supposed to, I'd go yellow. But if you have them on when it's not foggy I'd match it them to your headlights.

Go 8 or 12 k. My buddy has 12s in his HD and they are blinding

Here's my TBSS with 6000k lows and fogs. Then another pic with the high/low quad beams. Btw the highs are also 6000k. The clearity is excellent and they are crazy bright!!!

You do realize the higher the Kelvin number, the less light they actually output right?

Personally I would go no higher than 6k. The higher numbers get too blue/purple for my taste and look like crap IMO.

Plus matched lights tend to look better I think.

I'm going 6K for hi/low but just wasn't sure about the fogs.

I need some help though. Sylvania says the bulbs are 5202 but they don't make a kit with that bulb so I need some alternatives if anyone is good when it comes to bulbs.

Who knows if they're legal or not. I see other people riding around with them. I hardly ever remember to turn them on so I guess I could get 3k but just not sure.

3k will be the most functional when it comes to poor driving conditions

Functionality is not required, more of how "cool" it will look I guess. All white lights or white headlights/yellow fogs?

I believe 5202 bulbs are the same as H10's.

Detoxx03 Nov 9, 2009 03:17 PM

6 or 8K

Red97LT1 Nov 9, 2009 03:32 PM

Like the 4300k myself.

xRelapse13 Nov 9, 2009 06:52 PM

i'd vote for 3000k. Im modding up the stock brackets rite now to fit h3 housings and am gonna put 3000k hids in the fogs and 5000k in the headlights with h4 bixenons.

enigmah Nov 9, 2009 09:14 PM

I have had 8k for about a year and i love em.. not too blue and not too white to blind people... and i can see TONS

carl06gt Nov 9, 2009 11:38 PM

i would go color matched with the hi/lows

SS DNA Nov 10, 2009 02:38 AM

I would go with 6000K if I was you.

98camaro28 Nov 10, 2009 03:06 AM

6K. For sure.

xXxSilveradoxXx Nov 10, 2009 03:15 AM

Stick with either 6K or go with 4300. Don't get yellow.

2nd2nunn Nov 10, 2009 03:43 AM
