Buying HID's: Need bulb # Hey guys, i'm buying 55w 8000k HID kit SLIM ballast from DDMtuning.com. Only thing I need is to include my bulb number. Does anyone know that off hand or know where I can find that out? I want to order them tonight and I think its too late to run to auto zone.. 9026 might be it but I can't remember. Thanks in advance! Which car? Either way, there is a handy replacement guide on Sylvania's that has a listing for most bulbs for most cars (including tail and instrument). http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/ |
high's are 9005 lows are 9006 |

^ Is that the same for 98+ Firebirds? |
what about the fog lights on a LS1? |
did you look on that chart they posted? |
I suggest you get a relay harness with a 55W kit. Why not just go with a 35W kit. That would be sufficient. |

I'm not following you on the relay harness. Don't know what that is. I talked to an sales person on the phone and he said the 8000k at 55w would have just about the same blue color as the 6000k 35w, except the 8000k 55w would be noticeably brighter. Thanks for the bulb number 9006. I went to autozone and confirmed it. Thanks alot guys i'll let u kno how they turn out.

No the firebirds/trans ams run a dedicated bulb inside the housing. you would need to drill out the stock bulbs from the headlight and jb weld a set of hid bulbs in them, or buy a special conversion kit which you can find more information on in the Lighting faq stickied at the top of this forum they are 894, however that is the exact same as the 880 bulb which is sold on ddm tuning. i would recommend buying them in 880, 3k temp for yellow and the most visibility for those puny oem fog lights i beleive the OP is talking about his 2002 SS, for which he would need the 9006 conversion kit |
i have 8k 55w from ddm in my headlights right now and they are pretty damn bright. one of my fog lights just went out so im just going to replace them with an HID kit |
Will the 880 from ddm fit the fog lights? I've got them but couldn't get them to fit with out it feeling like I was forcing it too much. It seemed to me that the bulbs were too long. |
it should, other people have used them. i would hold the bulb up next to the housing to make sure it isnt too long first though |
hey guys I ordered hids' for my formula from ddm tuning and they are h4 bulbs so they should fit after i modifiy the housings right? The reason i ask is i see alot of people on here using the h7 bulbs. My order is still in prossing so if i really need h7 bulbs i can still call and change the order before they ship. On sylvania's website it called for h4. I ordered the 12000k 35w highs and lows. |

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...-trans-am.html Is this for a Camaro? Camaro's take 894 fog light bulbs last time I checked.. Firebird's are 880. (if they're any different?) the 894 has a 90' degree bend at the end where it connects to the harness. their fittings and bulb design are the same i know there have been a few members who have already done this so everything should fit |
Ive tried two different HID kits in the fog lights, both were 880 bulbs, neither worked, the bulbs were too long. I know it can be done but I havent had any luck. |
