98-02 black housing headlights
any of you have actully done this?

Im not a fan of projector headlights so I might as well do this.
What are you thoughts to this? any other tips other then what this guy did.

lol another n00b i must set striaght. jk.
its called the whistler mod, yes i've done it to my car, IMO its the best headlight option out there. cheaper than anything else, easy to do, will last forever if done right.

I've done both of my previous cars plus a few friends cars and a few customer cars. I have also taught a couple people how to do it correctly. It is actually pretty simple if you have common sense. I will be doing my new SS pretty soon as well.
The only thing you really need to keep in mind is DO NOT FORCE the housing open, if it takes longer to open than normal fine, keep heating it. If you force it you will start breaking things.
Also 3-5 LIGHT coats of paint is a million times better than 1-2 heavy coats. Also use clear/black RTV to seal them. Don't use orange, blue, red, etc unless you want that color outline when they are closed.
Lastly, if your housings are cloudy or yellowish now would be a great time to wet sand and polish them.
