Check out my new battery cover
Check out my new bat cover. I designed it to cover as much as I could and am in the process of designing one for the other side. Let me know what you guys think.

Wow! That looks really good. Nice job.
My momma always said, "Say something nice about a person and they might make you a battery cover for free."
Okay, maybe not but it was worth a try.

Re: Check out my new battery cover
Covers a little more area than you are interested in?....traction control? The cover is made out of 3/16" black plexi and held in with 4 allen head stainless bolts in nutserts...had to drill a few holes but I think it was well worth it. As for selling them.....well I dont know, would be a chore...but I will give it some thought.

All the plexi and the cutting was done at Tap Plastics...the disign I did in Pro/E and printed the template for them to cut. I dont have any pics that are closer up than that, sorry.

Good job but I don't see the point. GM finally makes a car that has the battery easily accessible and you want to cover it up and make it more difficult to access. Nice work though just not for me.

He's got easy access to the ground designed into it.
The last time I needed to access my battery was to replace it.

Re: Check out my new battery cover
There is no need to get to the bat, but if I do it is 4 easy allen head screws to pull out...not a prob. And with it set up like this there is no..."whoops I dropped a wrench across my terminals" Plus I think it looks way better.

Re: Check out my new battery cover
Very nice there....that gives me an idea: I'm in wheelchair and right now to get access to the engine bay (to put in oil etc.) I have to sit on top of the battery. If I can make that piece stronger and have better support, it may withstand my weight of 115lbs.

Re: Check out my new battery cover
Yeah...the SS will be here soon and that will add a little to the visual apeal. Next is to make the cover for the other side and put a bowtie on it.
Sonny...this plate would work good for you...you could get it made out of 1/5" or little thicker and use plates as spacers instead of little standoffs and you should be fine.
