1998- T-tops are NOT similar to 2000+ T-tops Check out the pics
Well the 1998- Trans Am T-top fits on a 2000+ Trans Am but the one I bought was TO DAMN TIGHT. I had to almost break the damn handle in order to latch it right.
I bought this one on ebay but it sucked since I SPECIFICALLY mentioned that I want one off of a 2000+ when the seller still insisted that they are the same.
The color didnt match the interior though some people argued that there is no difference in color .. ahem..
Also it sucked when trying to latch it to the t-top holder in the trunk. Again I had to force it to the point where it would almost break the handle just to get a secure fit.
Check out the pictures. Dont make the same mistake unless you really dont care.
it should be the 1st album that says "1998 T-top in comparison to a 2002 T-top":

I know I posted before that 1999 and older the grey interior was called Graphite, and the 2000 and newer was called Ebony, and the do not match.
I am surprised on the fit, though. I do recall Scott Settlemire tellign me that the 2000 and up Camaros/TAs are actually a little bigger than the 1990's since the presses are getting worn out and the peices are getting bigger.
Sorry to hear about your woes.

I couldnt really tell. But latching the 1998- t top on a 2002 would need 2 hands to do it. Plus forget about latching it to the t top holder in the trunk unless you think 10 minutes for 'latching' one t top only is not too much.
anyone see why im starting to go mad? LOL

I knew the colors wouldn't match. The glass shape/size should be identical however. If I were missing a T-top and was desperate, I'd live with this fitment issue (temporarily) versus a plastic bag and duct tape

I knew the colors didn't match but the fitment should be the same. My passenger side T-top goes on very tightly so I think you just got a lil bit of that GM slop factor in that one T-top
