93-97 taillights in 98-02
Searched, couldn't find anything. Does anyone have a pic of this? My buddy just gave me the taillights, and what's interesting about them is there is no yellow area, but the clear section follows the trunk to spoiler line. I think these might look pretty cool with the SS wing. Pics anybody?

I hate to be a huge douchebag. Maybe because it's because I haven't had my morning coffee, or a day off since December, but what the hell are you asking? The back of an LS1 car looks 100% identical to the back of an LT1 car. Google it. Use your imagination. It's going to look like a black LT1 car with a 1998+ SS spoiler on it. There might only be a few hundred on this site.
Here you go. Just picture it being black. With a spoiler.

yeah, it'll just look exactly like a 93-97 car from the rear, since they are exactly the same back there. the only difference would be the SS spoiler. surprised nothing came up in the search, it's been done by many.
but yes, you are right about them following the lines of the car better, which was why i had done the swap.
as for fit, they are not 100% the same. the slots for the 3 large bulbs are a tad different between the two, and to use those on your car, you'll need to make a slight notch in the slots to allow the 98-02 bulbs to fit into the slot

Common mod. In fact, I just bought a pair of 93-96 tails to replace the broken/melted pair I have. If I remember right, you'll need to make a new hole for an additional tab to fit through.

To get them to actually light up 2 bulbs like they do on the earlier cars, you will need to completely swap the entire lighting/wiring harness over. I didn't go through all that, but several here have, and there should be a write-up or two on the subject.
the wiring harness swap would be a must for a 93-07 car to take the 98+ lights though, since if they didn't, the amber section would stay lit.

I think im gonna do it. I also want to paint the rear panel flat black ( maybe satin) along with a matching SS hood scoop vinyl. My car is black and has the camaro lettering in red on the rear panel along with the red/black SS emblems. Then finish it off with A red bowtie grill

If it weren't for the huge horizontal reflector lines I would consider swapping tails, but the reflectors just totally kill it for me. I'm one of the very few on this site that prefer the '97+ tails, oh and also one of the very few that love the factory rectangle exhaust tips haha
