Question What's not needed in the engine bay? Trying to clean it up a bit...

Been wanting to do this for a while. Trying to get a list of things I can do to gain some more real estate area under the hood without all the non needed stock crap under there... i.e. wires, plumbing, etc...

off the top of my head I can think of these...

!wire mod
!egr (already done)
!air (already done)
battery relocation
coil relocation

what else?

I'm keeping my A/C!!

not sure if this would be rather suited in the external engine area or not... we'll try it here i suppose...

I'm not sure how you feel about it but you could remove your ABS. You could also re-locate your PCM.

Unfortunately that's all I can come up with right now.

I took out my window washer fluid reservoir, never used it anyways and it actually clears up some nice space before the radiator.

I just did this and it's pretty simple to pull out from the bottom. I too never used it because it sprayed washer fluid more so on the roof and hatch than it did on my front windshield. Tragic mistake after a nice wash and wax.

yup. If you wash your car once a week they are pretty much pointless imo.

Is there a place you can move the cruise control module with it still being functional? And where would you move the PCM to?

Cruise control looks like nothing. It's just an extra cable attached to the TB.

The traction control on the other hand is a big ************...

What I meant was where the 3 wires hook up, in the little black round thing by the battery. If I were to move the PCM somewhere, would I be able to stick the black round thing (NO HOMO) in that new void, and it'd still work right?

Hahaha. I know that guy in the second link you posted. He's on another board I frequent. He also lives down in Jacksonville, NC. Thats where I met him in person. His car is pretty damn quick.

There is a guy on the forum who moved his PCM into the wheel well, with the tire. Now that I'm back home I'll have to look for it. I wouldn't personally do that but I suppose there would be no problem with it if it was secure and the car was driven on road only.

Personally, when I do my engine bay beautification build I'm going to remote mount the PCM somewhere else. Although I'm not sure exactly where yet.
