Sorta. I made a new lens with Lexan (since mine were cracked) and used "aluminum" paint and not black like Brian. Guess I would have gotten a more positive response if I used a better lens and black paint. I only did it because Spd_Kilz did it.

I'd be willing to do it! Just need the time and motivation. Light Pewter Metallic here.

This is such an old thread that I could probably bet that most who have did this mod had or have issues with either moisture problems or melting of the fogs housings especially with hids. People usually won't admit when things go wrong after doing such mods.

Yeah it's different and unique mod but probably ain't worth the trouble in the long run!

Ok so i tried this on one of my fogs in hopes that i could separate the plastic instead i sat there trying to pry them apart when they were hot it still would not separate the housing got so hot i need to put on a welder glove and the housing itself started to bubble, lol.

which is exactly why i was afraid to do this. did you try heating them up at a lower temp.

its like cooking... lower temps for longer periods of time is the best way to do it

oh god i just compaired working on cars to cooking...

Stupid question... How do you "undo" the 3 rivets to gain access to that area

i was actually thinking about sticking them in the oven on a low temp for a bit but i used my heat gun and the damn thing doesn't have any heat settings on it, lol. i was also holding it back far enough but still didn't matter once it hit a certain temp, lol.
