LED's in fogs

So, it is now time for new fogs. I was going to put some hids in them, but I thought about the leds. What to you guys think about that. Has anyone done this or no? How bright would they be?

staticx57 Sep 17, 2010 12:08 PM

If you are worried about brightness, nothing will beat HIDs.

X2 for HID fogs.

I just got a set of 880 led bulbs for my fogs, will advise in a week or so.

CobraHunter - that looks sweet, how's is the light output?
Can you drive with just the fogs on?

Cajun - I had 880 LEDs, definitely an improvement over stock but nothing major.

Ls1CamaroGuy87 Sep 17, 2010 08:13 PM

They'll look bright when you look directly at your fog lights, but I don't believe they will light up the road better than stock or HIDS

thecobrahunter Sep 17, 2010 08:44 PM

Well, they're just too low to the ground and set too far back into the front facia to serve as replacements for the low beams at night. But they do provide great supplemental lighting at night.

Are you guys getting any radio interference from the hids? I bought some hids a while back, but removed them because they made the radio static when on..
I haven't tried DDM tuning ones, but I have heard good things.

SparkyJJO Sep 23, 2010 06:57 PM

I could hear mine whine in the radio when I first kicked them on, but the whine would fade then go away completely as they warmed up and reached full brightness.

ben77 Sep 27, 2010 11:30 PM

Def HID's. LED just look good with very little output. I had LED's then got HID's.

9WhiteCamaro9 Sep 27, 2010 11:59 PM

What watt did you do in the fog lights? Ive heard you have to do 35 or they will melt, is that ture?

blackls1ta00 Sep 28, 2010 09:44 AM

35 is plenty bright 55w will burn the lens over a period of time.
