Default Help with tire size please

I have a 1998 Trans AM. I currently have 255-35-18 mounted on 18x8 rims. I want to know if I am able to mount 275-35-18 or possibly 285-35-18 on these rims and not have any problem with turning or clearance. Thanks for the help in advance.

Default Re: Help with tire size please

A 275 tire is 10.8" so squeezing it onto a 8" wide rim is not recommended. Is it possible, sure. call a tire shop they should be able to tell you. All tire manufacturer's haver tire and rim width recommendations.

Clearance fine with both tires. A 275/35ZR18 tire is the exact same OD as stock SS tires. And people do run 285's.

BTW, welcome to the board.
