Carbon Fiber v Fiber Glass Hood
Hello,
I am looking to get a hood for my z28 and am debating between carbon fiber and fiber glass.
I have heard a few things about fiber glass(mainly bad) and some things about carbon fiber(mainly good). I would like to get some insight from you guys on which type of hood is better.
Currently I am looking at an Ultra Z hood but can only find it in fiberglass. Maybe someone on here has seen it in Carbon Fiber and would be able to point me in the right direction.
Also another question, if I were to get Fiber Glass, what, if any, things would I have to do in order to make it fit?
Thanks

C/F is VERY light and durable as hell! Most of us go with fiberglass, but if it's ever hit, it will just break or shatter. If you hit a c/f hood, the worst that will happen is it'll crack the clearcoat. There was a video of these guys taking an axe to a C/F hood from a C5 and it took them a WHILE to be able to chop through it, let alone even break it.
C/F is quite pricey though. -Depends on where you go.
