Default I got my new rear view today!

I got my new compass/temp mirror today and I was wondering if anyone has a mirror like this and has any advice on the wiring, you know, do's and dont's, difficulty level, etc.

Also, how do you put a picture directly on this post, rather than a web site?

Thanks.

I don't know about the wiring, but as far as posting
pics here, you have to have it hosted somewhere else
and then put a link in your message here using the
IMAGE button below the message box.

Since you have a 02 I assume from your username, it is a easy install. You can just use your factory mirror connector and add the pins and maybe have to move some pins according to this pin-out:
Pin #1-add a 12v hot in run wire from the fuse panel
Pin #2- use the old black wire for ground
Pin #3-optional for the mirror to not dim in reverse. I did not hook up this pin.
Pin #4-one of the black temp sensor wires
Pin #5-other black temp sensor wire
Pin #6-white wire from dome light
Pin #7-blue wire for dome light

As for running the wires: remove both A-pillar trim (plastic pieces along the windshield). I mounted my temp probe in the back of the grill opening on the passenger side. Run the wires along the passenger side through the firewall where the pcm wires run through, then up through the dash running it along the passenger side a-pillar. I used tape every so often to keep the wire nice and snug to the a-pillar. Pull the front of the headliner down just enough to push the wires back under it, run it across and down to the mirror leaving enough slack that you can remove/install the mirror easly. You can always tuck the extra slack back under the headliner. Do the same for the power/ground feed on the drivers side. I used small zip ties to bundle the wires up nice and neat. Hope this helps <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
