Default Fikse 17x9.5 vs 17x11

I have a dilema. I'm getting ready to drop about four grand on some High Polished Fikse FM-5's and I want to make sure that I get the right fit.

I've seen cars with both 17x9.5 and 17x11 in the back. The 17x9.5 never stick out past the fender but the 17x11 appears to. This leads me to believe that the extra 1.5 inches of width is OUTSIDE of the center of the rim giving the 17x11 a deeper lip.
Well, I talked to a guy at Thunder Racing today about the fitment and he said that the 17x11 lip wasn't any deeper than the 17x9.5 which tells me that the extra 1.5 inches is INSIDE of the center of the rim. Maybe it is just me but the 17x11 fikse seem to stick out much further in the rear than the 17x9.5... almost enough to trip somebody if they ween't looking. What do you guys think? Can someone with 17x11's out back please speak up?
If I am right, would you please give me the specs of the rims. In my opinion, the extra depth of the 17x11 makes the FM-5 even that much more attractive (which would really be warped if they aren't.) ...But if they are, how does the car handle with the rear tires sticking out further than the front?

I have them on my 35th conv.. I would say they are for sure about .75-1" larger lip on outside, then the other .5-.75" on the inside. But they don't go out past wheel well lip, nor hit the inside..

I have a terrific idea: give me the four grand, I will buy them and put them on my SS, and you tell me what you think! Just buy them, they are badass!

I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but my 11's fit just like 9.5's do (ZR1 Rims). It just depends on the backspacing. In my opinion, it'd be nice if my rims stuck out a little more, because I like the 'full' look of having 11's in the rear. Of course the only drawback is that it might rub the fender lip if it's further out (that also depends on if you have aftermarket spring to stiffin it all up)

The lip on the rear wheel is bigger than the front. No question about it.

Nice cars Brandon. Well then, what do I tell these people? Do you have the invoice to your FM-5's that includes the specs on them? I need to know backspacing, offset and whatever else is important so I don't end up getting the wrong fit. BTW, do those have the technicolor finish or the high polish finish? They're shiny whatever they are.

My 17x11's the lip is the same size but the inner part of the wheel sits in more to give it the effect of the lip being bigger. The wheels look great and fit well. Go get em.

Anyone have pics of the high polished Fikse? I've seen them on the website but it doesn't really give me an idea. It is an extra $100 per rim so I can understand why next to no one gets them but were already spending $3600, might as well make it $4000. Can I find these cheaper anywhere else? $764 x 4 = 3056 + 170 for 11" rims in back = 3226 + 400 for high polish = 3626 + 80 for high polish lugnuts = 3706 + 100 for shipping = 3806. That seems just a little bit rediculous. BTW: how much do these things weigh? Thanks
