Default Reverse light bulbs OEM 3155 VS. 3156?

Car: 2002 Camaro
I have a reverse light out and want to replace it, preferably with something brighter (Non LED). I read a post in a search that a 3156 bulb will fit and is brighter.. I would like to confirm this and also ask about possible higher current draw/heat issues.
Thank you.

I also have halogen reverse lights. I bought them from Pep Boys a few years ago. They are 50watt halogen bulbs re-based to fit (and advertised as such) in place of the stock reverse lights. Its a yellow & black package (backboard with clear plastic "blister" holding the bulb).

They look similar to the ones posted in the link above.

I am using 3457's in my reverse lights which are the brightest bulbs of the XX57 family.

kinda to go along with this thread, but somewhat different. Does anybody know any brighter brake lights? Sides and 3rd brake. How do you read the difference in lights by their numbers?

When I bought these the guide/book at Pepboys had the wrong bulb number listed (1156). I had to return those and get these. The 1156 has a different type of base. Ours are a wedge base.
