Default What's the best thing to do to make inner wheel shine like new?

I've already cleaned them with soap and water, which got rid of most of the brake dust, etc., but there is still some round spots which are black in color. Overall, the inner wheels are not clean. What can I ues or do to make them appear brand new?

buy new ones and swap em in, 20$ each IIRC but a PITA to swap out LOL. 5 years ago I did that, and lost one going down the highway .. that said, if you do that.. buy new plastic push locks, I re-used the old ones.

Are you asking about inner wheel or inner wheel wells? I think racing is refering to wells

Wheel wells: clean well with degreaser and/or repaint with semi gloss paint

inside of wheels: clean the same way one would clean the outside, including polishing if they are aluminum

I'm talking about the inner wheels, not wheel wells. My bad. Could a very fine sandpaper work to get the last little bit of black spots off? Like maybee 2000 grit or is that a bad idea?

FYI-round black spots are likely road tar, clean alot and then wax so the next batch of crud wont stick too good, then clean often.

You can sand em but I wouldn't go with a ruff grade paper though. Start medium and work up to higher grit sand paper and polish em out if necessary. But like I said, don't start to low or else you'll be there all day trying to get the deep scratches out.
