There is a guy that runs around my area with a V6 black Firebird with an LS6 in it. It still looks like a stock Firebird too. Goodluck with the swap.

Yup..

Kmember needs to be swapped. A ton of little BS things, as well. Issues. I hope to have it on the street very soon.

I opted to switch from a 98 metal tank to the newer style plastic tank for the weight savings, that was(n't) a fun project at all.

I like the painted intake. Shines real nice!
Did you paint that or did you have that professionally done?

What are you going to do about insurance? Are you going to insure it as a 6, or tell them what it really is?

Nope, the sanded the hell out of it and used a few coats of high temp. gloss black, and then a few coats of clear. Came out real nice! I had actually done it in silver before, but decided to go back to black.

Valve covers were also painted black, but I changed them back to silver.

About the insurance, I'm not really sure. Any advice?

Well, it obviously still has a V6 vin. I'm just betting they wouldn't cover anything V8 related in the event of a serious wreck.

He has to insure it as a v8, unless there is no smog regulations wher he lives. This is because the BAR would force the car to be approved, for when he went to register. A v8 wont pass a V6 emmissons test. But if ther are no emission limitations then hes fine.

No emissions tests in Texas. Yet, anyway. I have friends who can take care of that, though.
