Auto shift knobs, what are my options? any pics?

I have a 94 camaro with a 4l60e trans and hate the stock shift knob, what are my options? Can you post pics of yours and info on where to buy and how to install please.

hate mine too. i put a stick shift boot/plate around mine but cant use just any knob because u have to push down to shift and has to be pushed up to take the key out.

A stock Trans Am A4 shift knob will fit. To swap them out there is a little clip than can be pulled out with pliers.

I think after thoughts auto sells a kit to swap them out .. They are a sponsor on here

babbage1109 11-26-2011 02:29 PM

It is held on with a torx bit. I had to cut the shaft about an inch

I was wondering about this also what about a knob with out a button

babbage1109 11-26-2011 04:55 PM

You have to use the adapter. Then it becomes a push knob. You push down to change gears. Then you can use whatever handle you want

Do you know if the shifters between the 4th gen's and 3rd gen's are the same? I'd love to get one of these ball shifters with the firebird logo on it or my 84 T/A.
