As in what, replacing just the lens on the housing? If that is easily doable and cheaper sure.

What would "the rest" entail?

HAHA, I don't care... First, second, third... Whatever! LOL

But with that attitude, I'll buy the first FIVE!!! HAHAHAHA

I would be done for this.. You just separate the housing from the lenses just like the Whistler mod, yea?
It most definitely would keep the price WAY down.. That 250-300$ I mentioned for a full tail light would drop all the way to 100-150$ shipped I would assume. I know nothing about it, but that would be fair... Taking into consideration we are providing the expense piece (stock tails) and doing the work.

Do you think you could make them look exactly like that photoshop with OEM quality? That is the only way I would be in... If you can though, I would without a doubt buy a set, depending on price I might actually buy 2 sets of them.
I would even be happy with the quality that they make the side markers/turn signals off Ebay.. The ones that are clear/black housing/etc.. As long as they look like they could come from the factory, I'm down!

You don't want to see my bank account buddy.

But that last statement is something I heavily agree with. I don't like really modified non OEM looking stuff most of the time, so these would have to appear exactly as they look in that picture, clear with the honeycomb.

I'll even put a deposit down for a set if you'd need.

You can't separate the LS1 honeycomb lights like you would the Whistler mod on the Camaro headlights. I believe on the LT1 tails you are able to separate them, but not the LS1 tails. Hell even that link with the LED taillights were LT1 tails.

And you don't want to see the white card board box I have in my closet for mod money! HAHAHA True story!

Then you could separate lt1 tails and 6LE could make a honey comb cover for them... You would have ls1 tails like the photoshop.

So I found the original pic used in the OP and decided to attempt what I was kinda thinking.
This is a rough chop, not alot of editing.
Very 2011 Charger-eque:

I started to clean it up and make it more realistic, but lost interest, lol.

I like my stock tail light design... It is one huge reason I love the Trans Am. It is unique, NOTHING else is like it. You know it from a mile away on the interstate.

I'll be damned if I copy some mustang/charger/pos design. I HATE the way they look.

Yes, I have. Not really sure what your point is except to point out how they look NOTHING alike.

Might as well asked me if I have ever seen a Honda tail light....?

They are extremely unique, the shape and the cosmetics.

Looks tacky and very cheap, and I'm not a fan of the "clear" look.

NO GrandAm has Honeycomb tails. If your referring to the patter on the early 90's GranPrix then yes they share the same similar pattern to the 93-97 TA Tail Lamp assy with a slotted pattern, but no Honeycomb

I'd be in, but like the rest, I wonder how we'll install them if LS1 tail lights won't come apart... would we have to find some LT1s and do the whistler work?
