Default Push Button Start Installed **Pics**

Big thanks first off to Mark (ssteven) on here for sending me a push button start from a Honda S2000. I really appreciate the gesture! Got the push button as a freebie so definatly a cool mod thats only going to cost me my time and a couple wires/relays. I installed this in the center console where the cigarette lighter went.

Front view...

The whole part...

I wired up the s2000 push button start last night with the help of a neighbor whos really good with electrical stuff. (My one weakness with cars) Looks really nice and an improvement over the sig lighter since i dont smoke

Another cool thing is the lettering on the button lights up at night. The led in the button has a red cap over the light which made it dull, so I removed the "cap" Lights up pretty bright at night.

Honestly though, no real purpose for this other than the cool factor as I wired it up so I can start the car normally if I want to as well.

Why must people quote the first post to respond and all accompanying pictures with it?

Clean looking. I kind of want to do this, but cant really justify it only having the 'cool-look' factor. haha.

You still need the key to start the car(vats). The relay/switch are for the neato factor. I have my ground wired into my brake ,so it must be pressed to start the car.

Switch the two hot wires going into the switch and it will light up.

So with this do u have to turn the key to acc. Or to start then hit the start button. The only reason i ask is becuase im my wifes lancer it has a black key cap that goes over the ignition to start it. I wonder if you could make an extra key and form it into the cap that way youll never have to take your keys out to start it and just turn the cap and push the button. If you want i can take a pic and show you later what im talking about.

Great way to have your car very easily stolen too...

I think these mods are very cool, but IMO, also very pointless if you still have to turn the key to ON anwyay..

Also very true. It looses its cool factor when you have to put the key in.
