custom cold air intake?
Ive seen a few cars, mainly looking for camaros, that have a custom cold air intake. I want to change from the usual lids to a more of a vette style CAI on a camaro. Looking for ideas and pictures. Thanks

Heres mine but it pulls from nostrils if on camaro the other would pull also as good and had lid and you can hear air being sucked in with new setup. Working on "lid " that attaches to hood and lowers down over filters (reverse of volant) to keep cleaner look.no rush happy with as is for now and just to busy.

Looks good bad bird, similar to that but i want it more hidden. McCord I love what you did with the front it's crazy good. Im wanting to do something of that sort but don't really know where to begin as I don't have any tools or experience to customize something like you did

Do you want something that looks good or something that gives you performance?
You f body guys do not know how lucky you are to have a lid setup that allows for a straight shot of air into the engine and is so easy to add a ram air setup to force feed it.
My "cai" is costing me at least 2mph over a fbody with large outlet lid and a ram air box.

IMO you will be very hard pressed to beat the lid type setup for power. It makes it easy to scoop and force air against the flat filter, then smoothly funnel it into a straight shot into the TB.
I would not be surprised to a see a cone type CAI beat a stock or lid only setup, but I would be shocked to see one beat a large outlet lid sealed to the box with a ram air setup under it to pull cold air from under the car.
