NEWER camaro steering wheel in ls1 camaro?

Default NEWER camaro steering wheel in ls1 camaro?

hey guys as the title states im curious if any one has installed a newer camaro steering wheel into an ls1 camaro not sure if its even possible, just sick of my plain steering wheel thought it would be cool if i could get the newer style to work, also if you have an aftermarket wheel please post up some pics!

just saw another thread on this yesterday asking bout the vette wheels. The short answer as no, not without extensive modification to the steering shaft and or wheel. If you get it to work, the airbag wont due to newer style electronics

i ended up reading that thread and saw that the other guy was looking at doing the newer c6 wheel, but what about if i tried using a wheel from a 2000-04 corvette in my 2000 z? or is it still likely to be the same outcome?

apparently the c5 splines are completely different from any other GMs of that year range. Theres a big thread either on here or corvetteforums about it.

kinda sucks... Dunno why GM wouldnt have done a standard spline across the board... If i get it to work with the vette wheel ill do a full write up on it.

so right after i posted this I did some more research and might have dumb lucked across something.... its ordered... updates when it gets here

i think i found the correct steering shaft to modify our shafts to accept the current wheel... the part number is 26074286... I'll let ya know if it works out like im thinking it will
