Default vht nightshade on 98-02 trans am

hey guys i csnt decide if i want to do blackout tailight covers or do the vht nightshade paint. i bought both already and cant decide what to do. i heard sith the vht nightshade it comes out almost like a flat color which i do not. the thing i dont like with the blackout covers is t covers the reverse lights vompletely. so if you guys that have either of these done could you please post up pics, especially the guys with the vht nightshade. thanks guys

I don't know much about VHT, I blacked out my Tails on my Camaro with Actual clear coat and black paint. Take about a cup of clear coat, just literally a few drops of black paint, mix it up and spray it on in several light coats! Your lights will literally almost look wet, very glossy! I did the same thing for the blinkers and side markers as well.

Vht can look glossy its just in how much time you spend on it. Wet sanding, polishing, prep. He are mine with 2 coats of vht and 3 costs of clear.

Mine have been done for years & still look great. Just watch how many coats you put on. I also used a clear coat over mine after.

The best set of VHT lights I've seen were just hit with 2 medium coats over a light sanding of the stock tails. Shine so much you would swear they were wet sanded and cleared.

I think i've got 3 or 4 coats on mine no clear just time buffing and wet sanding by hand. I can see my reflection in the tails like they were cleared i love them.

this is exactly what i want, with the reverse lights unpainted. when did you buff and wetsand? between what coats exactly? and what grit sandpaper. step by step would be awesome, they came out perfect
