Default detailed my car yesterday. next week will be 9 years of ownership

damn how time flies, lol.

first a few pics from may 2004. i bought it may 1 with 84,9xx miles on it. the first pic is actually from the autotrader ad, lol. second few pics are from an sffba bbq the day after i bought it.

now for yesterday's pics I'm currently at 142,6xx miles and the sides of the car and the rear hatch still have factory paint on them.

front fender, not bad for original GM paint

Glad to see your bird running strong! I'm in my second year of owning my 02, and I've loved every second

You've been taking good care of it, those wheels look fantastic too.

Anything planned for the future?

Congrats! I've owned mine for 9 years (As of April 1st) now and can appreciate the commitment to the black paint.

thanks guys. not sure on future plans. i just got done doing some interior restoration.

replaced my steering wheel that had cracked leather with a used on out of a low mileage car.

and got a new ABS plastic headliner

the seats were reupholstered a few years ago due to the typical bolster wear and a bit of sun damage on the top of the back seat from before i had the windows tinted.

oh one more small thing i did, i had the calipers painted and got new black hat rotors.

under the hood has gone through a bit of a change as well.

here's the pre engine cleaning shot when i bought the car.

and how it looks now

Justin, what is that in your engine bay that covers everything around the air lid?

It's a custom fiberglass cover that I made. I'm hoping to make them for all 4 of the 4th gen F-bodies.

Sorry OP for the quick hijack. The interior looks great and you did an awesome job with the engine compartment too.

thanks. yeah that's my DD. 2004 V6 'vert. my dad bought it in may 2010 and passed away 6 months later so i kept it as a DD when i moved down here to FL. its one of those "Rare" 3.9L V6 mustangs. yes i said 3.9 LOL. last half of 2004 they replaced the 3.8 with a 3.9. 2005 was a 4.0.
