Default New McNord AgreSSive Spoiler OPTIONS, opinions wanted...

Here's our new spoiler by McNord...

We're ready to go into production on this piece but are at a fork in the road and need to see what way people would want us to go...

1) Private Label through RK Sport. 100% made in the USA, ships within 5 days of ordering (once in production) and AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN OEM. No fitment issues, blems, etc... and would come with the brake light.

DOWN SIDE, quality and made in the USA is expensive. We're TRYING to get these at $500 plus shipping and so far even that is a financial challenge.

2) Private Label through Extreme Dimensions (they make our other products currently). Made in China, will take work out of the box to fit right SOMETIMES (sadly we never know). We try to keep in stock but could take as long as six months to get sometimes. Will NOT come with a brake light.

UPDSIDE, we could definitely sell them for $400. Maybe less on a group purchase.

FOR THOSE WHO'D BE READY TO BUY WITHIN THE WEEK TO BE PART OF THE FIRST TEN PRE-SALE (which would be a discounted price over regular price) which way would you like to see us go?

IMHO, I'm not really feeling it. Call me old school but I like the original SS spoiler or maybe the Mecham one without the two "posts' in the center.

Seems like a catch 22. If you get it made here in the U.S. you're going to have people bitching about it being too expensive. If you contract it overseas you're going to have people gripe and complain about "fitment issues." I say do what is best for you, your company, and your bottom dollar.

My vote goes to rksport on it. We're talking a $100 difference? Or does that 400 include shipping?

Whatever the case, I'd say go with rksport. Better product in general, won't need the same level of finishing/prep work, comes with the light, and will be at my house ready to on the car within a couple weeks... Definitely sounds like the better option. I will be considering this spoiler myself, so as an actual potential buyer, I'd prefer to buy it knowing I'll get it in the same year...

6 months is the key point to me... Did that with the targa. Couldnt see myself doing it again

I would honestly say go the rksport route. The price difference isn't drastic and I would rather have a spoiler I can install right out of the box instead of dicking with it till i feel it fits right. If I had the extra coin right now I'd be in on the first group buy. But I can tell you I will be purchasing this spoiler when the time is right.

I vote the RKsport route. $5-600 is quite a bit for a spoiler though.

Keep it here in the USA. Besides, it sounds like there is only $100-ish difference AND it would come with the brake light AND fit properly without as much massaging it sounds like the end result price would be similar.

I would like one but I already have a spoiler I'll be using, so this is just my opinion and not me ready to buy...

Even though I no longer have an Fbody, I'd opt for the RKSport / USA piece. An extra 100$ up front, or an extra 2-300$ in the long run getting it to fit? You'll get what you pay for, and your products are a representation of you and your company. Good luck with everything man!

something to keep in mind isnt only just the exterior look and fit but also how well its made underneath of what gets painted. the brake light wont fit very well, the mounting holes will be very bad quality, it wont thread in right etc.

I just recently had to do the fitment work on an extreme dimensions spoiler for a Supra and the parts were TERRIBLE. i had to completely modify mounting holes and everything. Go USA, you dont want cheaply made parts being sent to customers with your name on it.

I would rather spend a little more and have no issues bolting it on, sand it and spray it.

I would prefer to spend the extra bucks to support US Economy, and get better quality, than to go a little cheaper and have to fix fitment problems and give China more money...

That would look great on the end of a Trans Am spoiler. Ever thought of trying something like that out? Either way, I would like to see more products for the Firebird/Trans Am.

I love the spoiler. No one will complain more than someone who spends $400 and then the spoiler doesn't fit, or it doesn't look quite right when its on. Go the RK Sport route. Buy American, and save people the long wait for something that "may" fit.

Quality products (especially appearance ones for your car) are always worth spending money on vs cheaping out.

I don't have a dog(or a Camaro) in this fight but I really like spoiler. If someone can scrape together $400 dollars for a overseas spoiler they can save another month and get one that's actually going to fit well and look nice. Just my .02

No clue yet. Still working it out with RK since we're just a small company buying in small quantities.

I wish Brian (McNord) lived close, we'd open our own little factory the way RK actually did back in the day...
