Default Fresh buff and wax, 99 Z28

Swapped the hood because the paint was fading. New hood had some hail damage so I had it PDR'd.

Buffed the hood and it looked GREAT, fenders not so much.

Buffed the whole car.

PC 7424XP

Orange LC pads.

M105 then 205 on the hood and trunk upper surfaces.

M205 on the rest of the car.

Meg's NXT 2.0 wax.

Looks good, I would remove the side moulding. Also not a big fan of the pewter/red theme . Clean car otherwise

Thanks guys!!

A lot of guys don't like the red and pewter, but I get a lot of compliments on the car in person and especially in the paddock at road course events.

I like it, it's different.

Not a bad looking car for 216,000 miles.

Looks great. I'm starting on my Pewter WS6 tonight, using a DA and Adam's new paint correction dual stage system. I assume you opted for M205 only on the other parts of the car because the swirl marks/marring wasn't too bad?

You would be correct, most times you can get by like this. The upper panels take the most abuse for sure.

Always try a spot with the least aggressive compound so see what it does before sending in the heavy artillery.....no need to cut more than you need to get the desired finish you are after.

Very smart on your part. I think I'll try your approach with the side pannels and doors. I know I'm going to need the more aggressive compound on the hood, sail pannel and spoiler, but I bet I can get by with just the Adam's polish on the other parts.

Tape of a 2'x2' section on one of the worst panels. Start with the least aggressive and if that doesn't achieve your desured results, step up to the more aggressive polish. Once you get that section the way you want it, proceed with that method. You may or may not need to do both steps on the bottom portions since it is a light color and its hard to see swirls on the lower portions anyway.

Is there a proper way to do the very bottom portion of the car regarding the DA; right under the doors? I see that as being the toughest part to get corrected.

A smaller pad like the Lake Country 4 inch pad helps out a ton on the rocker portion of the car. The 5.5 + pads can be difficult to keep spinning due to the added presure on part of the pad.

In all honesty, light never gets that low to show the swirls or scratches so I didn't even bother polishing it. If the car was a dark color I would've, but since its not, I didn't care to take the time. Lol.

I kinda like the red accents on it. Kinda brings out the red a little more on the Z28 emblems.
