Default repaint on the monsoon HU

A couple of weeks ago I bought a CD HU to replace my tape deck and when I installed it...... no love!!! I did not know that the 98-99 color was lighter than the 00-02 HUs. So I reinstalled the tape deck and called it done. Fast forward to today and I figured I would try to see if I could paint it..... Came out pretty damn good.

Here are some during and after pics.......

HU apart:

pretty straight forward.

Buttons installed:

finished product:

Before and after:

I am pretty happy with the outcome..... might paint the "hook" covering the word TUNE down to get a better uniformed look.... but then again I might just say done.

A lot of work for a stock unit but as long as you're happy with it. You did do a good job though.
