Default Can a VFN hood sit for months in its box?

I have a vfn hood from a friend. It hasn't been used yet, but it has been in the box for 1 year now. Do you think there is a chance of the hood warping at all?

I would think you would be fine. However, I think it would be best if laid flat as if it was mounted on the car.

I just found out it was primed. Now I'm worried if it cured properly, I think I may stay away, what do you think?

I mean the fiberglass, shouldn't it be installed on the car for about a month so the fiberglass can cure. Why would the guy through primer on it?

Im pretty damn far from you Phoenix, I live in Toronto, Canada. Wish we were closer, I prefer the Oem Hood. I hear vfn is just as good, so it all comes down to price. If anyone has a NBM oem ram air hood, I'm willing to travel 4-5 hrs if anyone is selling one. Thanks for feedback on the fiberglass info, I have no clue when it comes to the glass.

If you want to drive to NY I have a nice original WS6 TA hood that I am selling.

You are also right about the factory hoods being better.

The factory hoods are made with a completely different pressure molded process and as such will always line up better and have none of the warpage issues that you usually find with aftermarket hoods that are made with chop glass and left to gravity cure in wooden molds

The "month" thing is just a safety thing for paint. The heat from the sun makes sure any chemical stuff with the resin happens BEFORE you paint it. At this point you could paint and install but if you're worried install, let it sit in the sun a month then paint.

Either way, sitting in a box for a year did nothing to it.

Our valances our different, they are urethane and come folded. You have to pull out of the box immediately otherwise they stay the folded shape. VFN hoods are not that way.
