^^^ I'm pretty sure that is just a cap not a replacement. I need a full replacement for my 94 but can't bring myself to spend the money.

Correct. The 6LE part is just a cap. The ebay vendor is a different company and is currently the only company selling a real aftermarket replacement dash top.

Ok, I installed mine today...

Issues I incurred;
  • Had to clean up plastic shavings in vent area, took about 20 mins.
  • Had to shape both alarm led sockets, these were poorly cut, spent apx 1 hour cleaning these up.
  • Fitment is good except the Velcro they install to the close-est seam to the drivers & passengers area is not really "built up" enough to mate to the Velcro on the dash, maybe after heat and the cover conforms more?
  • Also on mine where the VIN is cut out, its cut out too much and a small gap is present.
  • The black finish on the top is some type of paint although the cover is made in black plastic, not sure why they spray another coat of black on top?
All in all I rate this a 7 out of 10. For about half the price of a new gm unit I think this is a good value but its not a gm piece for sure, but you get what you pay for. If I get 5-7 years out of it I will be pleased and in the mean time I may recover my old one for a spare.

See attachments, if this site would allow my pics that are hosted on Google I could link to the actual pics but for some reason they have blocked Google pic hosting in the last few months or so.

(Sorry my car was dusty, it was very windy today and I cleaned out the garage and blew the dust out on my car, which need a wash and wax now)

I would just cover it, the color and the texture just don't look right, but the fitment looks better then the previous posts.

Update; after driving my car for three days straight in the sun all day I can say that the gloss causes a lot of glare as shown on the left side of the pic below, so it needs to be shiny...

Damn. They should give away a pair of polarized sunglasses with each dash top.

That's strange....Mine fits perfect all around.....no issues anywhere around the outer perimeter and I dont have that gap near your VIN plate.

****Have you ever had a new windshield installed...?

It looks decent. Mine is holding up well for 16 years young, but noticed one of the fins on the vent is cracked. It would be nice if there was just a quick replacement for the vent. Also...does anyone happen to know the part number for the OEM replacement? Thanks.

My stock dash reflected like that. Don't use any armor ALL bs. I think there is a polish that reduces glare, I forget the name of it though.

Yea...the factory lid reflected a lot of light into the windshield too. This new piece so far, I haven't noticed any glare yet.

Man, that's weird yours fits so bad. Did you trim a lot around the outer edges....?

I can even see red paint under the lid at the front/center area through the windshield......

I mean....the one I just put in lines up everywhere like factory and has no gaps anywhere. I didn't trim anything.......just popped it in.

All dealerships have different prices.....two local dealerships here are trying to get $610.00 and $630.00 for a new factory deck lid........HILARIOUS....

I wish the vent area didn't dip on the aftermarket piece and was shaped more like the factory piece. I know the average person probably wouldn't notice but that bugs me, enough that I probably won't ever purchase this and will just pay extra for the factory piece if my original one ever cracks. I keep coming back in here and staring at it trying to change my opinion. :/

thats what bugs me the most about this part, i'd rather have a big hole there I could fill in how I like then the sagging vent.

Just updating this because i see quite a few people asking about them and wanting to know how they look. Me personally if you dont mind taking to steps back in appearance then buy this, it is better than looking at the cracked upper dash but all in all in comparison to a gm dash it doesnt look near as good. My buddy bought a car with one, yes it will hold up but the looks are meh
