Default Black C6 saved from the work of another detailer

This corvette owner sought me out to see if anything could be done to make his car look better. He had had another well known detailer in the bay area work on the car and it "just didn't look right". After about 30 sec it was obvious the previous detailer didn't know how to correctly work the hard corvette clear coat. Heavy DA haze and micro marring were present all over the car along with a few strike-throughs (when people say you can't burn with a DA....that's not exactly true). After 2 days of re-compounding and two more rounds of polishing, this C6 was back to looking sharp again!

upon arrival

lots more DA haze and micromarring

50/50 shot

After compounding

More defects. Also 1/8" 3M Fine Line tape used to protect edge that had be compromised by other detailer, keeping the burn mark from getting larger during correction work.

After

All finished and sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond

Thanks for looking!

Great work on your part!

Now the owner just needs to get some tires that actually fit the rear wheels (I would also dump the satin finish.)

Check out the "Ask a professional detailer" thread I started. Everything you need is there.

After seeing that paint i feel obligated to go back and re-compound my entire car. That is literally flawless. I figured a little micro marring was normal, but sweet Jesus that is perfect.

Wow, amazing! I really need a professional in my area to look at my car and see if it's worth their time and my money to get my car somewhere close to that... My cars paint looks almost identical to your before pics.
