Most Drop-in LEDs don't properly use the optics of the housing and aren't as bright as the lamp they replace.
Almost always, the beam is negatively altered. Extra foreground, and lost distance lighting.
There are some threads in HID Planet's LED section with plenty of comparison pics and videos.
The only one I've seen that was anywhere close was the Phillips H4 version (and maybe one or two copies that came close).
At a minimum, you want a tight narrow row of LEDs oriented in the same position of the original lamp's filament if you want to get anywhere close to use the optics of the housing for usable forward lighting. Most drop-in kits miss this mark by a wide margin and the ones that are close aren't that great either.
