Default Ebony interior swap part track down

When looking for a Trans am I really wanted one with an ebony interior, but I came across a 98 that was way too nice to pass up on over interior color. Beings it's a 98 I ended up with the charcoal interior, it's in really good shape and all but I would love to have a black interior. Other than the seemingly never ending searching to track down parts cars just to get a few good pieces here and there what are some other good ways at collecting all the pieces needed if any? Are there any good site sponsors that sell used interior pieces? Would dying the interior look good? Although I'm not crazy about doing that and most likely won't.

You can dye the console, mid speaker panels, rear speaker panels, and even the dash. I would find OEM ebony door panels & kick panels. The SEM flat black is a perfect match for an ebony interior, I've used it before to touch up spots on an 02 ebony interior. If you prep the surfaces right, grease/wax remover, dawn dish soap, etc. Then scuff the sureface lightly with a scotch pad, then use rubbing alcohol to wipe the surface down. Spray it on a warm, dry day. The dye will hold up GREAT. & has the same sheen as a factory panel. Done a complete interior of a 98 model Like this at one time, and bought oem black seats. I didn't have any issues. After they have been installed for a day or two, I give the whole interior a wipe down with interior detailer, and it honestly feels no different than a regular panel.

Just keep in mind that the '00-'02 "Ebony" color isn't a true black, it's more of a dark charcoal. So you'll just be going from a dark gray to a darker gray. I'm assuming you've seen them before and find this acceptable though. I just wanted to point this out in case your intent is to make the interior truly black, in which case the only option would be paint/dye.

I know that many people think the '00-'02 Ebony color IS black, but I've owned two of them right along side some older GM cars that had true black interiors....the difference is quite noticeable.

Don't dismiss dyeing the interior too quickly. I've been dyeing my interiors since the early 90s when SEM only sold the dye in cans and you had to spray it on. It will last. The most important part is the prep work. Prep it properly and it will last the life of the car.

Plus, it's a lot easier (and less frustrating) than hunting down that last piece or two that you just can't find!

I can guarantee that the flat black sem is a near perfect match to the factory ebony. I've sprayed it onto factory ebony interior pieces, and you could not tell where the dye was blended in at all.

I pieced my ebony swapped interior together using the classifieds on this site, craigslist, and ebay.

Maybe I'll reconsider and look into dying the interior, I was just worried you would be able to tell it was painted, the paint would eventually start peeling off and it would look like crap. If none of this is not an issue it would be a lot easier than tracking down all the parts.
