Default sun visor....solution ?

Gentlemen, while searching for climate control ***** at the junk yard today, I came across a 2003 Cadillac CTS. While looking at the interior for possible climate control **** alternatives, I noticed the sun visors. They are vinyl, ( leather grain ), and have lighted mirrors. I took the driver side sun visor to check for fitment in a nearby wrecked firebird. It fits. One or 2 of the connecting screws might need a new hole drilled in the firebird sun visor mount area, about maybe 1/8 " off.

However, what an upgrade from the OEM F-body cloth sun visors. I also found 12 Camaro climate control *****, including the head light switch ****. I now have both the driver & passenger CTS sun visors, which are in A minus condition.

While I realize some may not like the Cadillac CTS sun visors for Firebird replacement, due to not being an OEM feature, well I am also using Camaro *****, and Camaro shift ****, LED headlights and soon to be, Harley LED fog lights.

Also, the CTS seating arrangement seemed too compact.

They are dirt cheap on ebay too. Only issue I see is the color not matching. Can always wire up the lights if you wanted. Some even have a HomeLink garage door opener in them which would be handy.

. I installed both today. They look great. I'm still doing the wiring, which I will splice into the rear view mirror wiring.

Thought I replied here. Whoops.

The holes do not line up, BUT they are very close. I will have to drill 2 holes.

Well lets see the godam thing. I love looking at sunvisors with screws in them.

And what happened to the OP? He probably he had his t-tops off on the higway when his rigged up visor came off and hit him in the face. Catastrophe ensued.

they are definitely weird looking. they stick out further than the T-bar, and color is weird.

Still cheaper than our construction paper ones.

pictures later

Thanks to Al for posting these photos.

While not to everyone's liking, they were $10 each at UPULLIT. I did not install the sun visor retaining brackets, due to I'm not sure this installation is permanent. T-top headliner was recovered in black marine vinyl. However original ttop headliners are extremely hard to find. So I did not want to create a new hole in the ttop headliner, if I change the sun visors or delete them.

However, for the present time, being this is a Daily Driver for work, the sun visors are great for the early morning sun.

How much longer/wider are they than factory visors?

I've toyed with the idea of getting some, and the hook piece they hook into (so they don't bounce so much), and having them recovered at some point whenever I get the interior redone (at this rate in 20 years lol)

Just purchased some of these. So everyone just drilled them in?

My cars roof has been re-done with suede and they covered up the factory connections for the sun visors (pisses me off)
