Default 5th or 6th Gen Camaro Seats in a 1999 Trans Am?

Has anyone attempted this or knows someone who has? Are the new Camaro seats to big for the car or would they fit?

way too big......you need a seat with a frame to cushion seat height of under 6 inches

It was Hawks or Detroit Speed who did the install and they weren't very willing to publicly give a how to, this Iroc was a high dollar build. The 5th gens use J hooks in the front, so obviously those would need to be cut off and a proper mounting solution designed and welded to the existing seat frame.

Considering the head rest is like 3” from the headliner, I’d say that definitely DOESN'T fit unless your name happens to be Verne Troyer.

That is the same recaro seat I had in my ZL1, hands down the best seat I have ever sat in. Makes me miss that car so much.

Probably isn't terrible if you have a little fabrication experience...Id love to see the bottoms of them. Anyone know where to get these seats and how much they usually go for? Probably way out of my price range.

Check the local junkyards and hunt eBay if you want the seats. Then it's just some flat steel and a welder to adapt the rails to your mounting points.

basically what i was trying to say. yes they fit. no they will pretty much not be functional......your legs probably cant fit under the steering wheel without oddly angling the wheel up too high making it so awkward........i was stubborn and tried some gto seats in my 4th gen.......im 6 foot weighing 170......my hair was basically touching the roof....it was soooo odd. just look at how thin the cushion is on fbody seats in comparison to the new stuff? c5 seats work in our cars....why? because they are thin just like our seats.......also why race seats are no issue. modern cars arent setup for your *** to drag the ground like the 4th gen is.

These seats go for about 2-3k. I would get the ZL1 seat over the Z28 seat. The ZL1 seat is heated.

I spend a lot of cash on my car, but I don't know if I'd spend that much on 2 seats....
