Default What Spoiler For 1997 Z28 (Poll Inside)

As the title states,

What spoiler for a black 1997 Z28? I recently have obtained a 2002 OEM SS SLP Spoiler that is getting work done. I am also entertaining the idea of getting an OEM LT1 SS Hood and Spoiler, but I need to check with my paint / body guy and double check finances to see what my limit on the hood and spoiler is.

Like I said above I have a 2002 OEM SS SLP Spoiler that I like the lip oif. I am indifferent of the pillars but also enjoy the look of the LT! SS Spoiler that has no pillars.

I was dead set on the LT! SS OEM Spoiler way back when but the lip is not aggressive enough. Then I became attached to the OEM SS SLP LS! style spoiler, now I've recently seen the LS1 SS spoiler with no pillars and I think thats my favorite looking spoiler. I know Mecham or something or other built a no pillar ls1 spoiler but it stuck way too far outward from the car.

here are some pictures of my car below, bought it in 2005.

Option 1: Regular Z28 Spoiler as seen below:

Option 1: LT1 SS Spoiler as seen below:

Option 3: LS1 SS Spoiler as seen below:

Option 4: LS1 SS OEM Spoiler with Removed Center Pillars, as seen below:

I'm not going to be any help, because I'm in the same boat as you and don't know what to do.
I want to put my LT1 SS to be period correct.
I think the LS1 SS looks better.
NOW, you introduce the LS1 SS without pillers that have a very clean look to them. I'm surprised I've never seen that before.

Whatever you decide I want to see it!!

I don't particularly like the LS1 SS spoiler, but not because of the pillars - I don't like the LED brake light (too modern looking for the platform and not consistent with the primary brake lights, therefore looking more like an afterthought than an originally integrated feature). If it were mine and I didn't want to stick with the base Z28 spoiler, then I'd do the LT1 version which uses the conventional 3rd brake light.

Add one option here. The McNord spoiler. Not going to mention who currently carries them because they aren't sponsor but a Google search can point you in that direction.

Otherwise I like the LS1 SS Option

i like the ls1 ss spoiler over the lt1 because of the taller lip, so that's what i voted. but seeing the ls1 ss without the center posts is like the best of both worlds so i kind of vote for that too lol i have an ls1 ss (not OEM) spoiler on my car and really like how it looks (doesn't fit perfect since not OEM) and cant wait to get it painted with the rest of the car.

I've decided to go the LT1 SS Spoiler route and hood.

I paid $410 for my LS1 2002 OEM SS SLP spoiler; I also have two lights from Hawks Third Gen (1 regular SLP third light and 1 SLP third light smoked). Would like $525 for everything shipped.
