TA vent phone/GPS mount ?
 

Has anyone found a way to install a phone or GPS mount in the round vents rather than using the suction on the windshield?

Want to lower it some and thinking the vents are a good height.

I've gotten the regular push on styles like this:


As well as I also use these which are adjustable via pressure:

Then you just use a regular metal plate and toss it on to your gps/phone/phone case and you'll be good to go, most of them will come with a few of the metal plates as well(usually circular, or rectangular).

Both work well in different situations. I use the first style on the passenger side vent on my Z06, and I use the second style in my trucks. I know for sure you can fit the second style firmly on the Trans Am vents, but with how brittle the plastics in these get, I would first make absolutely sure that you're not going to just snap off part of the vent during regular usage. I've seen plenty of them get damaged when people go with mounts and don't realize their dashes have gotten more brittle than not.

You may want to consider this as an option. I made this a few years ago. weathertech now sells something similar.
Dont laugh , it works & looks great. .. I painted a yogurt cup & mounted the suction cup/ magnetic phone holder to it. Cup holder option.
