Default painting questions

Hey, Im new to painting. Ive seen one and 2 stage paint jobs. one stage where you mix enamel hardener with the paint to give it gloss and to dry the paint. and 2 stage where you spray base and then clear. What is better. I cant tell the differences when looking at them side by side. What are advantages/disadvantages of each?

Two-stage is by far superior too the one-stage.The only advantage of single stage is cost.Cons of single is that it will fade rather quickly and is not as
resistent to chemicals as the two stage, also will never have the "depth" or overall shine of the two stage. Two stage con is it's cost, easily doubles the two stage cost,it's pro's is the "depth",and of course the overall shine and resistense(sp?) to U.V. rays and chemicals. The easiest way to tell the difference is take some wax and apply it,then when you wipe it off the paint color will be on the rag if it is the single stage, two stage will not do this. All in all if getting your vehicle painted and your going to keep it at least for a little while, pay the extra money for the two stage
